HilverdaFlorist wins award at the IPM Novelties Showcase 2026

The 42nd edition of IPM Essen opened with a presence of 1,400 exhibitors from around the world. International exhibitors and visitors came together to explore the latest developments and innovations across the horticultural sector.

HilverdaFlorist participated in the IPM Novelties Showcase, the platform where, since 2008, the newest plant innovations have been presented and assessed by an international expert jury. This prestigious showcase is reserved exclusively for true innovations, including entirely new varieties or unique growth forms that have not previously been presented at any other German trade fair.

HilverdaFlorist announced that it has received an award at this year’s showcase. Garvinea Sweet Pastry was named winner in the category Bedding and Balcony Plants, earning recognition for its outstanding overall performance.

Garvinea Sweet Pastry is distinguished by its strong garden performance and exceptional weather resistance, remaining reliable from early spring through to the first frost. The variety is characterised by abundant and continuous flowering, producing a high number of blooms throughout the season. Its visual appeal is defined by soft pink flowers with a contrasting black centre, with colours that remain stable under varying weather conditions.

From a production perspective, Garvinea Sweet Pastry offers uniform and low-maintenance cultivation, making it an attractive choice for growers due to consistent growth and high flower output. At retail level, the variety stands out for its strong, uniform appearance and rich flowering, supporting extended sales periods. Overall, Garvinea Sweet Pastry delivers reliable quality throughout the entire supply chain, from cultivation and transport to retail, and ultimately to consumers who benefit from long-lasting garden performance.
