Over three energetic days in Bangkok, Agritechnica Asia and HortEx 2026 served as South East Asia’s most comprehensive business platform for agricultural machinery, horticulture trade, innovation, and knowledge exchange.
Held at BITEC from 20–22 May, the co-located exhibitions brought together 367 exhibitors from 30 countries, 200 guest speakers, industry leaders, and policymakers for 60 technical sessions, alongside thousands of visitors under a shared agenda focused on turning agricultural advancements into real-world impact. From advanced farm machinery and precision irrigation to greenhouse systems, post-harvest solutions, and digital farming platforms, the exhibition floor reflected a clear shift toward integrated and practical solutions for modern agriculture.

With Germany as the official partner country and its pavilion seeing participation from 25 diverse companies, the event underlined a growing global confidence in Southeast Asia as a priority market for agricultural transformation and trade growth.
A key narrative throughout the show was the convergence of open-field agriculture with protected cultivation, driven by climate variability, resource constraints, and rising demand for high-quality, residue-free produce. Across technical sessions and exhibitions, the focus consistently returned to farming scalability, operational efficiency, and the feasibility of tech adoption.
An international conference programme further strengthened this direction, bringing together organisations such as FAO, IRRI, SEARCA, research institutions, and government stakeholders to discuss digitalisation, sustainability, and the future of resilient food systems and market access across ASEAN.

Reflecting on the success of the co-located exhibitions, Kuno Jacobs of Nova Exhibitions, the show’s co-organizer, noted the importance of collaboration in driving the sector forward. “Agritechnica Asia and Hortex 2026 serve as a vital bridge between global expertise and regional agricultural needs, enabling meaningful exchange between technology providers, growers, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.”
As the curtains close on this year’s edition, the takeaway from the event is that the future of agriculture in Asia lies in making stronger connections between open field and protected cultivation, between innovation and practical implementation, and between global knowledge and local impact.
