Holland Bulb Market has marked a milestone at its nursery in Egmond, in the Netherlands, with the start of construction on a new storage and processing facility. Riet van der Velden, mother of Joris van der Velden, laid the first pile during a ceremony attended by family, staff and other stakeholders.

The event was celebrated with drinks and cake. “With the laying of the first pile, construction has officially begun on a modern facility of around 2,000 square meters, marking an important step in the further development of our nursery.”
The new building will house six spacious storage cells equipped with the latest storage and processing technology, including advanced CATT treatment systems. The cells will accommodate more than 2,000 cubic meter bins, significantly increasing the company’s storage capacity.

The processing lines will also be relocated to the new site. “This will allow us to further optimize our processes and process our flower bulbs even more efficiently, preparing them for delivery to customers around the world.”
“With this investment, we are not only building additional capacity but also investing in the future of our company. The new facility will allow us to further strengthen innovation, quality and sustainability, and continue to serve our customers well into the future.
