New flower farm offers u-pick experience in Rhinelander

Picking out flowers can be a personal decision since not everyone likes the same ones. There’s a new flower farm in the Northwoods offering people the chance to pick their own flowers.

“We were kind of blessed with this land back in November,” said Aaron Panke, co-owner of Petal & Vine. “And we knew that there wasn’t a pumpkin patch in the area and I kind of always wanted to grow one of those.”

In addition to the pumpkins, the Panke family wanted something else added to their Rhinelander based farm. “Over winter, my news feed on Facebook had a lot of flowers,” said Christina Panke, co-owner of Petal & Vine, “and I kind of was wondering, ‘”should we be doing flowers?”‘

Petal and Vine opened for flower picking on July 31. Since that first day, the farm has been busy. Christina Panke said: “We’ve already had quite a few people come through. Saturdays have been busy for us.”
