German garden center saved through acquisition

Employees of the Augsburg garden center chain in the Ruhr area can breathe a sigh of relief: A holding company is taking over all the stores.

The Augsburg garden center chain in the Ruhr region will continue operating. All locations will remain open, and all approximately 360 jobs and apprenticeships are secure. Employees have already been informed about the current situation and the next steps. Augsburg has stores in Schwerte, Castrop-Rauxel, Hagen, Unna, Bochum, Krefeld, and Iserlohn.

The Semer family’s holding company intends to continue operations with all branches. The company headquarters will be relocated from Schwerte to Dortmund, and the existing business model of the garden centers will be maintained.
