The solutions on display on the exhibition floor were, of course, aligned with the challenges growers are facing: artificial intelligence and digital cultivation solutions, applications aimed at crop management, automation and operational efficiency, as well as various robotic and automated solutions addressing labor availability and the scaling of greenhouse operations. Energy and climate control were also prominent topics. Among the solutions on display was a Canadian greenhouse project combining LED lighting with automated vertical air movement in a single control system. The approach is designed to provide more precise climate management without requiring additional cabling.
Water efficiency and hydroponic production featured prominently as well, with attention to water recirculation, leafy green production and ways of reducing resource use in controlled environment agriculture.
Walking the show floor, it was clear that there are technological solutions for almost every challenge facing the industry. At the same time, the current market situation highlighted that not every challenge can be addressed with technology. Exhibitors and growers alike expressed confidence in the event, their products, the market and the future of the industry, while also pointing to the need for a calmer and more stable business environment outside the greenhouse to get investment moving again.
Despite this uncertainty, the inaugural edition closed on a positive note, and there’s more. With the next edition already scheduled for September 2027, the organizers are looking to further develop the new event concept. The exhibition will again be more concentrated in one hall, with a food court in the center and the conference area along the sides. Many of exhibitors have already booked for the next edition, indicating continued interest in the event as it establishes its place in the North American horticultural trade show calendar.
