5. Press the sprouted seeds into the soil about 4 inches (10 cm) apart. You don’t have to bury the seeds in the soil. Set them just on top, then brush a light layer of soil over them to secure them.

6. Lower the pot into your pond. Lotus are aquatic plants, so the soil should always have at least 2 to 4 inches (5.1 to 10.2 cm) of water above it.
