Biota Nutri introduces new foliar and trace element product lines

Biota Nutri has introduced a new foliar fertilizer range and an updated line of trace element products. According to the company, both product groups were developed with a focus on nutrient concentration and plant uptake.

The foliar range consists of Amino Complex Foliar, Iron Foliar, Boron Foliar, Copper Foliar, Manganese Foliar, Calcium Foliar and the Fluido wetting agent. According to Peter Klein, founder and CTO of Biota Nutri, the products were developed to address specific nutrient-related crop issues. “For both the foliar fertilizers and the trace elements, we focused on concentration and uptake by the plant,” Peter says.

The company states that the foliar formulations are intended for direct application to the crop and can be incorporated into existing spray programmes and tank mixes.

The trace element range is designed for the correction of micronutrient deficiencies and contains products with the following concentrations: Iron Powder (13% Fe), Boron (10.5% B), Copper (3.5% Cu), Manganese (11% Mn), Molybdenum (11% Mo) and Zinc (7.5% Zn). According to Biota Nutri, the formulations provide a readily available source of micronutrients for crop uptake.

Alongside the product launch, Biota Nutri has expanded the availability of its products in the United States through a distribution agreement with Griffin Greenhouse Supplies. The company’s products are now available directly from Griffin’s stock locations, reducing delivery times for growers and greenhouse operations across the country.

According to Peter, the expansion is intended to improve product accessibility for professional growers. “Having local stock allows growers to receive products faster and simplifies the supply process.”

The distribution is supported by Griffin’s GGSPro technical team, which will provide cultivation and application support for growers using the products. Biota Nutri’s portfolio will also be included in Griffin’s new controlled environment agriculture (CEA) and hydroponic catalogue.

Biota Nutri has also joined STORL, the Dutch foundation that organises the collection and recycling of agricultural plastic packaging. Through the scheme, users can return empty packaging free of charge during designated collection periods or through participating distribution partners.

The programme applies to HDPE plastic containers that are clean, dry, supplied without caps and packed in official STORL collection bags. Packaging that meets these requirements can be processed for recycling and reuse.

According to Peter, participation in STORL is intended to provide customers with an established route for returning used packaging. “We want to make it easier for users to return empty packaging through an existing collection system,” he says.
