FreshPublishers 2026 World Cup Group
Anyone who correctly predicted Spain’s 0–0 draw with Cape Verde yesterday would have struck gold. For now, it’s the big surprise of the World Cup.

Food and agri-specialist Cindy van Rijswick of Rabobank didn’t predict this result correctly either, but she did get it right with the 1-1 draws between Belgium and Egypt, and Saudi Arabia and Uruguay. With her sixth correct prediction, she leads the Fresh Publishers World Cup Pool with 924 points. She has relegated Italian potato and vegetable trader Luigi Giacomello to second place with 885 points. Romain Delacroix of the French horticultural supplier Soparco is in third place.
We see new faces in 4th place (account manager Rob Welles of Ovata), 5th place (strategic advisor Samir Amghar of the municipality of Lansingerland) and 6th place (logistics manager Dennis van Rijn of Koelcentrum-Zederik). Numbers 7 and 8 – Alexander Gruber from Vietnam and W. Roodenberg from Barendrecht – retain their positions at the top of the rankings. Ricardo van der Zijden of StC International and horticultural supplier Patrick Harte of CambridgeHOK complete the top 10.
We will know more tomorrow once the matches between France and Senegal, Iraq and Norway, Argentina and Algeria, and Austria and Jordan have been played.
