Royal FloraHolland renews tariff model heading into 2027

As of 1 January 2027, Royal FloraHolland (RFH) will introduce a renewed tariff model for members, buyers and suppliers, with adjusted member packages. “The model provides a strong collective foundation while recognizing the different needs and trading patterns of members. Costs are shared where they support the collective strength of the cooperative, and other costs are based on actual usage, in line with the use of services and logistics.” RFH has explained the proposed 2027 tariffs, which are subject to a decision by the Members’ Council in December, so that members can assess in good time what the changes could mean for their businesses. “In October, each member will receive personalized information on what will change for their specific situation.”

On 18 June, the Members’ Council approved the renewed tariff model for members. The model was developed on the basis of the 2026 tariffs and feedback gathered from members during several sessions. After the decision, the main changes were communicated at a high level. One element of the model is the further development of the member packages introduced in 2023. During the Members’ Council meetings on 17 and 18 September, the proposed annual tariff adjustments for 2027 were discussed, based on the principles of the renewed model.

The foundation of the model remains cooperative, so facilities that are important for everyone, such as Floriday, financial security and access to the logistics infrastructure, will continue to be financially supported jointly by the members. The model will also align more closely with how members, suppliers and buyers actually use services and logistics. It differs from the current tariff structure and will affect each member differently, so a member’s costs may be lower or higher than they are now, depending on how the member uses RFH’s services and support. An earlier news article about the renewed 2027 tariff model is available for members who want more background.

The renewed model includes four adjusted member packages, which start on 1 January 2027. They are the current packages in a further developed form, and they are now simply named A, B, C and D, without the references to specific trading channels used at present. Package A is intended for members who trade exclusively directly and do not use the auction clock or Auction Presales, but do use Floriday Daytrade. Package B suits members who mainly trade directly but also want flexibility regarding the auction clock, Auction Presales or Floriday Daytrade. Package C is meant for members who make extensive use of the auction clock, Auction Presales or Floriday Daytrade and also trade directly, and it is an attractive package for members with annual revenue of approximately €1 million or more. Package D serves the same kind of member, but is attractive for those with annual revenue of less than approximately €1 million.

Alongside the renewed model, the annual regular setting of tariffs for 2027 will take place. An overview of the proposed 2027 tariffs for each member package is available in the proposed tariff card for members 2027. These tariffs form the basis for members’ contributions to the cooperative and for the proposed tariffs applied to the trading and logistics of flowers and plants under the revised model. The definitive tariffs will be published on the RFH website after the Members’ Council decides in December.

In addition to the adjusted member packages, a number of specific tariffs will change, again with the starting point that tariffs should better reflect the use of RFH’s services and logistics. Under the Large-Volume Discount, trolleys auctioned in a GP+ auction group will receive a discount of €2.50 on the trolley tariff. For direct trade outside SEPA, a lower commission tariff will apply within member packages A, B and C for direct transactions where both the member and the buyer are established outside the SEPA area.

The proposed 2027 tariffs also include a commission increase to finance the additional investments for the Real Estate Masterplan. The Supervisory Board and the Members’ Council endorsed the plan in 2025 as a long-term investment in RFH’s infrastructure. With this reconfirmation, the commission increase will move gradually towards 0.30 percentage points in the coming years, and the increase as of 1 January 2027 will be 0.15 percentage points.

Because the impact of the renewed tariff model and the proposed 2027 tariffs differs for each member, every member will receive a personal letter in October. The letter will state which member package RFH recommends for the member’s company and what the member’s expected costs for 2027 are likely to be. Members are completely free to choose a different package than the one RFH recommends, and the letter explains how to do so. Members should make this choice before 14 December 2026.

RFH wants to inform its members as clearly and carefully as possible about the proposed tariffs and changes for 2027, so that members know where they stand and can make an appropriate choice themselves. Members are encouraged to take the time to explore the changes and understand what they mean for their businesses. They can do this by completing the online calculation tool, which allows them to compare the adjusted member packages and weigh the advantages, disadvantages and tariff differences for themselves. Extensive information about the renewed tariff model, the member packages and the proposed 2027 tariffs is also available in RFH’s dedicated online dossier.
