Tension builds at the top of the World Cup pool as banana importer, produce lawyer, and horticultural supplier lead

Fruit and vegetable lawyer Hans Borsboom of HerikLegal has closed the gap to leader Guido de Bruijn of Agrofair to just eleven points in Fresh Publishers’ World Cup Pool. The competition is therefore heating up as the tournament enters the knockout stage. Borsboom has swapped places with Patrick Harte of CambridgeHOK, former chairman of the British Tomato Growers Association, who now occupies third place.

Frank Meulewaeter, who works for Beti Ornamental Plants in Ethiopia, and Jose Juan Garcia Teruel of the Spanish transport company JCarrion have also swapped places. Christian Anton Smedshaug of Landkreditt in Norway climbs from eighth to sixth place, while Slim Kooli of the Canadian fruit and vegetable company Courchesne Larose moves up one place to seventh.

Vijay Dijkstra of Holland Floricultural Services is in eighth place. Mark Libregts of JNV Produce has returned to the top 10 in ninth place, while Marnix de Jong of Van der Hoeven Horticultural Projects makes his debut in the top 10. The sales manager of the greenhouse construction company has correctly predicted the final score of no fewer than 19 matches so far, a feat no other participant has yet achieved.
